Configuration of Acreditta Institutional Rules

Configuring Institutional Rules in Acreditta is essential to customize and automate the issuance of digital credentials according to your institution’s specific policies and requirements. These rules allow for efficient and consistent management of credentials. In the next steps, we’ll explore how to precisely configure these rules to optimize digital credential delivery.

In this section, you will find a list of available credentials, as well as the option to manage the rules that students must follow to obtain these credentials. If you need to modify any of these rules, simply click the button ‘Edit’, represented by a pencil-shaped icon.

To add a new rule, you must select what you want to evaluate. Click on the option ‘Assess’ to display the available options. You can then enter the value for each rule in the field ‘Operator’. Finally, assign the reference percentage and specify if the rule is optional, that is, if the teacher can decide to apply it or not.

Evaluate Operator
Course completed
Final course grade (in percentages) Less than, Less than or equal to, Equal to, Greater than, Greater than or equal to
Note for each activity (in percentages) Less than, Less than or equal to, Equal to, Greater than, Greater than or equal to
Percentage of activities delivered Less than, Less than or equal to, Equal to, Greater than, Greater than or equal to
Percentage of activities done Less than, Less than or equal to, Equal to, Greater than, Greater than or equal to

You have the ability to edit or delete pre-established rules, add new rules, and modify the mandatory rule that users must meet to obtain the credential.

An example of the application of institutional rules is found in the following regulation related to obtaining the credential. In this rule, the final grade of the course is evaluated, which must exceed 80% of the maximum possible grade. For example, if the grading scale ranges from 1 to 5, the student must obtain a final grade greater than 4 to be eligible for the credential.

Another example of institutional rules implies that for a student to earn this credential, his or her grades on activities must meet or exceed 75% of the maximum possible grade. Furthermore, her final grade must be greater than 90%. In this case, all the rules mentioned above must be met in order to obtain the credential.

Finally, these custom rules, carefully added to each credential, offer a powerful solution for the efficient management and issuance of digital certifications. Furthermore, it is worth noting that this configuration is not only accessible from Acreditta, but can also be viewed and adjusted directly from the Moodle platform, providing a comprehensive and versatile user experience for teachers and students alike.
