Create a digital degree

A digital degree is the template you use to recognize an academic degree granted by an educational institution. It’s made up of two blocks of information: program information and degree information.

Program information

  • Degree type: the academic level of the degree (e.g., bachelor’s, master’s, technical).
  • Professional degree name: the official name of the degree granted.
  • Description: a summary of the program the earner completed.
  • Select a supporting document: the file (usually a PDF) that will serve as proof of the degree.
  • Professional degree code: the internal or official code that identifies this degree.
  • Field of study: the academic area the degree belongs to.
  • Program: the specific academic program.
  • Faculty: the faculty or school the program belongs to.
  • Campus: the location where the program is offered.

Degree information

  • Standards: the standards or frameworks the degree is aligned with.
  • Criteria: the requirements the earner had to meet to obtain the degree.
  • Outcome: what the earner is able to do after completing the program.
  • Skills: the skills validated by this degree.
  • Image/seal: the visual seal that will represent the degree.
  • More information: an optional link with additional details about the program.

Administration options

These options work the same way as in create a digital certificate, so we won’t repeat them here — check that article for details.

Save and publish

Once you’ve completed all the fields, you can:

  • Create degree, to publish the template and make it available for issuance.
  • Save as draft, to keep working on it later without publishing it yet.
