Bulk sending

1. Download the document in .CSV or .XLS format from the platform.
2. Complete each row with each earner’s information — you need as many rows as people who will receive the credential.
3. Upload the document by clicking Upload file.
4. If your organization uses approval flows, select one in Select an approval flow.
5. In Issuance properties, keep Send email notification checked or uncheck it.
6. Click Grant credential.

⚠️ Important: don’t alter the headers or add or remove columns from the file. Any row that doesn’t match the expected format may end up as a failed credential — check Managing credentials if that happens.

Need to issue the batch without the notification email going out? See Silent issuance.

Customize the record for a specific row (overwrite_record)

If the record of one or more earners in the batch needs to look different from the rest — a different design, text, or image for that particular row — add an extra column named exactly overwrite_record to the file. This is the only column you can add to the file without breaking format validation.

In that column’s cell, for the row you want to customize, paste the object with the same sub-keys that overwriteRecord accepts in the API (recordDesign, texts, images) — see Customize a record with overwriteRecord for the detail of each sub-key and its allowed values.

Leave the cell empty in rows that should use the template’s default record — overwrite_record only affects the row where you write it.

Scheduling issuances

If you’d rather have the bulk issuance go out on a specific date and time (for example, to coincide with a graduation ceremony), you can schedule it instead of issuing right away:

1. Click the arrow next to Grant credential.
2. Choose the date, time, and time zone that work for you.
3. Click Schedule.

Why schedule instead of issuing right now? Issuing at the exact moment of the announcement (e.g., right when the name is read at the ceremony, or at the start of the workday) increases the odds the person accepts it right away while the achievement is still fresh — instead of the email getting lost among notifications from previous days.

How do I check that a scheduled issuance went out on time? Go to Digital credentials → Issued credentials → Batch issuances — there you’ll see each bulk upload with its own status (Scheduled, Sent, etc.). See Managing credentials.
