Creating a digital recognition template

A template (plantilla) defines the structure and content of the digital credentials your organization issues. Before you issue any credential, you need to create the template that will serve as its base.

Acreditta Platform offers four types of templates, so you can choose the one that best matches what you want to recognize:

Type Description Example
Digital badge Recognizes a specific skill, achievement, or short-term activity Completing a workshop, course, or internal training
Digital certificate Recognizes completion of a structured program with defined content Completing a diploma or certification program
Digital degree Recognizes an academic degree granted by an educational institution A bachelor’s, master’s, or technical degree
Digital credential collection Groups several templates so that completing all of them automatically grants a final credential A learning path made up of several badges that unlocks a certificate

🔎 Note: choosing the right template type from the start makes it easier to keep your catalog of digital credentials organized and consistent.

Why does this matter?

The template you choose determines which fields you’ll need to fill in, how the credential will look to the earner, and what information verifiers will be able to see. Taking a moment to pick the right type saves you rework later.

Steps to create a template

  1. Go to Create recognition template.
  2. In the modal window, select the type of template you want to create: digital badge, digital certificate, digital degree, or digital credential collection.
  3. Complete the requested metadata (name, description, image, criteria, and other fields depending on the type).
  4. If this template is part of a larger learning path, link it to a digital credential collection.
